Located in the Dalaman district of Muğla, Dalaman Airport is an international airport that began serving passengers in 1981. It is one of the two international airports in Muğla, along with Bodrum-Milas Airport. Known for its proximity to popular tourist destinations such as Fethiye, Marmaris, Göcek, and Akyaka, Dalaman Airport serves as a gateway to the beautiful southwestern coast of Turkey.

History and Technical Specifications

Construction of Dalaman Airport began in 1976, and it opened as an airfield in 1981, later obtaining its airport status in 1989. Covering a total area of 9,343,000 square meters, the airport features a 3,000-meter-long concrete runway and an apron with a capacity for 57 aircraft. The airport operates under CAT I (Category I) standards, offering 24-hour civilian and military air transport services.

Terminals

Dalaman Airport has two main terminals:

Domestic Terminal: The former international terminal has been renovated to serve domestic flights.

International Terminal: Opened in 2006, the new international terminal covers a 95,000-square-meter area with 12 passenger bridges, 87 check-in counters, and 64 passport control points, accommodating up to 10 million passengers annually.

Services like HAVAŞ and MUTTAŞ provide regular shuttles to nearby destinations such as Fethiye and Marmaris, making it easy for travelers to reach popular tourist areas.
